The VICTOR Model 40 16mm Projector

Victor Animatograph
Corporation, the Model
40 dates from around
1940.

110 volt operation.

750 watt lamp.
16 or 24 FPS

In operation, the
projector seems weird,
with the feed spool
located on the rear arm
and take up at the front.
This is made possible
by the off-set film path.
Which utilises the same
sprocket, for both feed
in and feed out.
A later and similar version to this one was made in
Melbourne by Pyrox Pty Ltd who manufactured Victor
projectors under license to RCA Victor. They were
sold as Pyrox-Victor.
The Victor was the preferred machine by many
libraries and education authorities, because it
incorporated a safety shut-off system which, in the
event that the film should lose either the upper or
lower loop, would immediately halt the mechanism.
