We are now very close to the end of the year, and as I write this, today
is officially the first day of summer, but looking out the window at the rain
and sitting here with a heater on, you wouldn’t know it. I don’t know about
other parts of the world, but the seasons here are not what they used to
be, Summer seems to come along much later in the year. I remember
when I was at school, swimming was on the agenda for our weekly
sports afternoon at this time of year. I doubt that many down this way
would enjoy a day at an (unheated) pool in December now.

I was once told the older you get, the faster the months seem to go by -
well, I can certainly agree with that, as I can’t quite work out where the
year has gone.

Barb and I attended the New Zealand Film Buffs’ weekend in Dunedin a
few weeks back - our first time in a few years. It was great to be able to
catch up with our Kiwi friends again. Now that Barb’s health issues are
sorted, we are looking forward to being able to get away a little more
often.

I am looking forward to a quiet time over the Christmas - New Year
period and being able to activate my theatre and give the projectors a
good run.
